Het romantisch Brugge, in het prachtig hotel Jan Brito met een heel lekker ontbijtbuffet kan je zeker niet missen. Echt een aanrader.

I spent one night here at the beginning of December. The hotel Christmas decorations were stunning, especially at night - white lights covered the windows, each of which was crowned with a large wreath. Inside, the elegant common areas were also vey tastefully and beautifully decorated for Christmas. It really was magical - especially when the fireplaces were lit in the evening. This is a lovely hotel. I stayed in the single room, over the courtyard. Unlike most single rooms, it had a roomy bathroom with a shower and a big bath. It was all spotlessly clean and had everything I needed - a powerful hairdryer, tissues, the usual complimentary shampoo etc., a safe, a stocked mini-bar, an extra pillow, a fully functioning remote controlled air-conditioning/heater unit and a remote controlled colour TV. The room was very quiet at night and I had a great night's sleep. In the morning, I enjoyed a lavish breakfast, which was included in the price of the room. There really was everything you could want - cold meats, cereals, pastries, a cooked breakfast, prunes, toast, real freshly squeezed orange juice...the list goes on and on. It certainly sets you up for the day. They serve great coffee too! The staff are very charming and helpful. They are happy to show you places of interest on the map (the hotel supplies you with one) and you are also given a discount card for local attractions. If I was going to nit-pick, there was a slight smell of drains downstairs in the evening. I noticed an air-freshener at reception, so I think they are aware of the problem and, having been to Venice, I know that canals often produce these smells. In fact, I noticed a similar smell in other parts of the city, so I don't think the problem lay with the hotel. The smell was not noticable on the upper floors and, in a hotel as enchanting as the Jan Brito, I can certainly overlook it. For the money, I really don't think you could do better. If I return to Bruges, I shall definitely want to stay here again.

We have just come home from a lovely weekend in Bruges. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Jan Brito Hotel and just wanted to thank you for making our stay enjoyable. The food was excellent, the staff were most hospitable and we enjoyed our evenings playing cards in the lounge bar by the fire. Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We have already recommended you and will be writing a review on Trip Advisor. Kind Regards Kim Human

"A Perfect Hotel!" location was great, walk everywhere. staff at the front desk (during the work week) were always cheerful and very helpful. we always could depend on them. room was very large and had a remodeled bath (with a modern shower stall!). room was very clean and the bed was large and slept well. the breakfast was amazing. three or four cheeses, sliced meats, eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh orange juice, pastries, +++. the best free breakfast we have ever had. we will stay no where else if we ever go back to Brugge. From the moment we arrived, till we left we were treated with excellent service. The Receptionist when we arrived made us feel so welcome and explained the hotel and surrounding area, including discounts you could use by showing the Hotel card, which we did and saved many Euro's. The room was huge and very comfortable. Being English we did miss tea and coffee facilities in the room, though the fridge came in handy! You need to be aware that the TV only shows "The Discovery Channel" in English, no cable, and that may bother some people. We were not in our room for long enough for it to be an issue and the weather was extremely kind to us. The hotel has been tastefully renovated and the garden being ongoing as roses were being planted during our stay. Breakfast is superb, all you can eat and drink to keep you going most of the day, except when you have to stop for a glass of the local Zot, gorgeous Bruges lager! Bruges is small, pretty, charming, relaxing and friendly, always a corner to turn to find another square or canal or chocolate shop! We would highly recommend this hotel.
