Thank you for a wonderful and memorable trip. Your staff are all very friendly and so helpful and the whole building is beautifully and sensitively restored to fell traditional but with clever modern elements. It is also a great location from which to explore every corner of Bruges - something that we were helped with by your very good map and initial guidance. We really loved the breakfast, both in terms of the selection and the gorgeous room in which it is served...we felt like we were on a film set the entire time. Thank you for helping make it such a lovely anniversary for us.

Het romantisch Brugge, in het prachtig hotel Jan Brito met een heel lekker ontbijtbuffet kan je zeker niet missen. Echt een aanrader.

I spent one night here at the beginning of December. The hotel Christmas decorations were stunning, especially at night - white lights covered the windows, each of which was crowned with a large wreath. Inside, the elegant common areas were also vey tastefully and beautifully decorated for Christmas. It really was magical - especially when the fireplaces were lit in the evening. This is a lovely hotel. I stayed in the single room, over the courtyard. Unlike most single rooms, it had a roomy bathroom with a shower and a big bath. It was all spotlessly clean and had everything I needed - a powerful hairdryer, tissues, the usual complimentary shampoo etc., a safe, a stocked mini-bar, an extra pillow, a fully functioning remote controlled air-conditioning/heater unit and a remote controlled colour TV. The room was very quiet at night and I had a great night's sleep. In the morning, I enjoyed a lavish breakfast, which was included in the price of the room. There really was everything you could want - cold meats, cereals, pastries, a cooked breakfast, prunes, toast, real freshly squeezed orange juice...the list goes on and on. It certainly sets you up for the day. They serve great coffee too! The staff are very charming and helpful. They are happy to show you places of interest on the map (the hotel supplies you with one) and you are also given a discount card for local attractions. If I was going to nit-pick, there was a slight smell of drains downstairs in the evening. I noticed an air-freshener at reception, so I think they are aware of the problem and, having been to Venice, I know that canals often produce these smells. In fact, I noticed a similar smell in other parts of the city, so I don't think the problem lay with the hotel. The smell was not noticable on the upper floors and, in a hotel as enchanting as the Jan Brito, I can certainly overlook it. For the money, I really don't think you could do better. If I return to Bruges, I shall definitely want to stay here again.
